Hi! Welcome to Lick Creek Photography - featuring the photography of Randy Masters.

I'm based in Illinois - in a small town, great to raise a family in. It features, among it's many small treasures, a wandering little creek called Lick Creek. (Pronounced "Lick Crick" by us locals!) That little creek is just made for hiking and exploring nature, and it's been part of my imagination since I was a little boy growing up here.
I am a salesman by trade, not a photographer per se. I travel for my work. Nationwide. It affords me a vast opportunity to see America - the cities, the architecture, the landscapes. It's an awesome experience, and I try to capture it in my off hours.
I carry a simple digital point-and-shoot camera - a Canon PowerShot A550 to be exact. That's it, my only equipment these days. I've learned all of the various camera settings and it gets the job done for my simple needs. It's main virtue is that it fits neatly in my laptop bag airplane carry-on!
With this simple but powerful camera, I have two variables to play with - available light and composition. Those are my challenges. And I relish the challenge to capture a memorable image with those simple tools.
All in all, it's better than sitting in my hotel room each evening.
